Casa do Povo de Câmara de Lobos develops an extensive social and cultural work for local populations. This organization's mission is to provide, cooperate and develop projects of notable interest to the community, especially for youth people, whether developed by external groups or by the organization itself. In educational level, Casa do Povo de Câmara de Lobos has been promoting various technical and professional courses (English, Computer Science, English, Secretariat, Accounting and Digital Inclusion). In order to preserve and promote traditional activities, promotes Pastry and embroideries courses. Promotes the teaching of music, theater, dance, possessed a tuna of mandolins and develops activities for the leisure time of youth. It has amateur teams in sports such as athletics, cycling and indoor soccer. In the area of recreation and leisure, has supported throughout its existence, initiatives promoted by other institutions. This is the case of the Feast of the Black Scabbard Fish, as well as the Gastronomic Weeks. It also promotes the Feast of St. John, on the beach of the Vicar, in which gathers many popular along the beach, beyond the popular marches of St. Peter and the Carnival parade. Collaborated throughout their existence in various cultural and educational initiatives targeted at young people: conferences, courses in various disciplines, campaigns, among other awareness events that were sponsored by this institution.
